School Meals/Free School Meals

All our school meals will be made on the school premises by school staff. We pride ourselves by using the highest quality ingredients available to us, from local sources where possible, to make high quality meals that meet the needs of our children.

Meals can be chosen each day by the children. We also ask that parents and children discuss the meals at home and pre-order via the School Gateway app, especially for our younger children as this saves valuable time each morning.

Snacks are available for purchase each day for each year group.

All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to a free school meal through the government's Universal Infant Free School Meal initiative. For Junior (KS2) children, meals are available to purchase at £2.70 per day.  Your child may be entitled to free school meals (FSM). To apply, please visit Cheshire West and Chester's page.

The school dinners represent excellent value for money, are nutritionally balanced and are served in our school hall. We operate a two-week menu cycle with three choices available each day. Dietary requirements can be catered for - please contact the school for more information. The menus can be viewed/downloaded below.

The school operates a computerised system, which gives each child in school an account into which you pay the funds. The system will record what your child eats for lunch each day and will deduct the cost from your child's account. Payments to the account can be made by online payments through School Gateway (instructions can be found below) although cash/cheques are still accepted.

It would be helpful if parents would note the following:

  • Dinner money and snack money should be sent in as one payment and where possible we would like to encourage you to pay a few weeks in advance in order to keep the admin to a minimum.

  • Daily payment for snacks and dinners is to be avoided.

  • Online payments are the preferred method of payment. Cheques can be sent and should be made payable to Create Learning Trust. If the name on the cheque is different from the child’s name then please put the child’s name on the back of the cheque.

  • Cash or cheques sent into school must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and year group and the amount enclosed.

  • Families with more than one child in school can send in one cheque indicating on the envelope how the money is to be divided between each child’s account. Payments online can be split over more than one child.
